Mission Bay Tennis Club

Coaches

Kevin Wright is our Head Coach and has been coaching full time for 30 years.  He has been resident pro at a number of large clubs in Auckland and returned to Mission Bay in 2008.  He is a former President of the NZ Professional Coaches body.

He is also a NZ Accredited Squash Professional and a former nationally ranked junior.  He played Caro Bowl for 11 years.  He is very experienced at all levels and has a really great team around him to assist in ensuring that all players at Mission Bay have an opportunity to improve their technique or wish to be involved in drill and fitness sessions.

Geoff Beach has been coaching for over 15 years and has been involved in Kevin's programme for the past 13 years.  Geoff is a former Bay of Plenty rep and played Caro Bowl for a number of years.  He is a fully qualified NZT Professional and is a very well respected and popular professional.

Matthew Jones is the lastest addition to the coaching team.  He has just returned from a coaching position in Switzerland and has now settled in Auckland.  He is a former Waikato rep and an accredited NZT Professional.  Matt is very enthusiastic to be involved and wants to combine his coaching duties with some competitive tennis as well as having an administritive role within the club.

Ross Murdoch will be working one night per week with the Elite Squads.  Ross has played most of his tennis in Scotland and has had close ties with Andy Murray as a friend and hitting partner. He is well qualified and keen to be involved with the senior club players on a Thursday night at Mission Bay.
